Social studies, Term 3, Week 7

Fact 1: In 1492 Christopher Columbus went to go to Spain

 Fact 2: But ended up in America and thought he was in India so he named the Native people of America Indians 

Fact 2: America became a colony of Britain


Fact 3: The mid-west and west coast remained Indian land 

Fact 4: Vikings were the first people to discover America

Fact 5: The frontier 


Push factors
- To get away from the law
- struggling to sell farm produce
-Embarrassment to parents
- Orphaned kids who are desperate to go to the west 
- Could not afford the mortgages
- East is becoming far to crowded 
- Unhappy love affair 
- Fighting the Indians 



Pull Factors:

-Wants to find Husband 
- Want Freedom 
- Wants to be a fur trapper  
-  Better Jobs
- Wants to get rich quickly 
 - Finding gold
- Have own farm 
- Wants an Adventure 


Obstacles

- Attacked by Indians 
- Huge travelling distance 
- Droughts
- attack by bandits or rustlers 




Flow backs:

- No schools
- No doctors
- Rodents inside house 
- Snow rain and dust coming into homes 


SEEL

Statement: Americans travel from east to west 

Explanation: I wouldn't move because there are no schools or doctors which means you cant have good health or a good education

Example: Americans travelled to east and west to find gold


Link: Moving to the west is to difficult so i wouldn't do it
